Dents Charlotte Warranty for Dent Repair Services

Terms of Service

Dents Charlotte provides professional PDR services. We attempt to aid the damaged areas where there are dents to be repaired, with minor scratch removal from time to time. We do not warranty scratch removal or touchup services. We do not warranty pre-existing paint defects due to poor management of the paint by customers (i.e., weak areas that have not been cleaned regularly, waxed, or weather treated appropriately). We also recognize some dent damage is located in difficult areas. Examples of difficult areas on panels include areas near handles or other mechanisms as well as the edges of panels where the paint may be thinner and weaker because paint is typically thinner where metal changes its orientation or direction.

We do not provide any additional services to automobiles, unless requested by you the customer, and agreed upon between you and Dents Charlotte, Inc., its' technicians, or employees.

Dents Charlotte, Inc. is not responsible for any items of personal or other value left in your vehicle at the time of repair. You, the customer must make sure all your items are secured before we begin repair.

Dents Charlotte, Inc. is not financially responsible for any of the following mechanical claims of damage any customer may claim were caused by Dents Charlotte, Inc., or its' technicians during our repair process. Examples include but are not limited to the following: Dents Charlotte, Inc., may need to remove liners(under fenders, in quarter panels, in the trunk, under the hood, or anything inside the interior of the vehicle) during repair, take out headlights and tail lights on the vehicle to access fenders or quarter panels respectively, or remove bumpers during bumper repair. Dents Charlotte, Inc. occasionally discovers that a vehicle battery may weaken or die during our repair process. Although we will attempt to recharge any battery that has weakened or died during our repair, we are not financially responsible for replacing any battery that may not recharge, or for any resetting or reconfiguring any computer related system failure related to a dead battery in the vehicle. You, the customer are financially responsible for arranging a tow service, if for any reason, we cannot get the vehicle restarted, so that the vehicle may be towed to an appropriate repair facility or a dealership for servicing.

Dents Charlotte, Inc. cannot make a panel look "brand new". We will however, make the repair, as close to the original panel quality, as possible using our process. PDR is an imperfect method of repair that requires years of experience and expertise. PDR is not a process of making panels new again. For a new panel you will need to seek traditional auto body repairs.

PDR is called a process, but it's actually the art of altering exterior sheet metal on vehicles without the use of paints or fillers, to achieve a restoration of the original metal orientation of the panel. Because of the nature of the process in which we push on the inside of a panel, there may be some texture involved in the final repair. Although the texture may be minimal and barely noticeable to the human eye, it is to be expected on some repairs. There are also times when we use a form of suctioning in extreme cases, i.e., when a dent is in a non accessible area whereby we would normally be able to push on the dent with a tool from the backside of that panel, or in an area requiring extended removal and installation of interior panels. Because of the need for suctioning, there is an increased risk of pulling paint away from a panel. Dents Charlotte, Inc., its' employees, and technicians are not responsible for reimbursing financially or otherwise, any customer for paint that pulls away from a panel during our repair process. It is our belief that you intended to have the damaged area repaired in any form, be it PDR or traditional Auto Body Repair, that would return it to its' original appearance, and that PDR was and is a cheaper more efficient alternative, if the area is repairable using PDR.

Dents Charlotte, Inc. believes that we are attempting to help you avoid a traditional Auto Body Repair if we can, but that it is only an attempt and not a guarantee that we will succeed in doing so especially if the dent is in a difficult area on a panel, if the metal was overstretched during the damage event, of if the paint is weak from poor maintenance prior to our PDR processes. If paint pulls away from a dented panel as a result of our suctioning process or as a result of any of our dent repair process, the area in question on the panel is not, and was not repairable using PDR. PDR in all cases is considered a 1st attempt alternative to the definitive repair process of traditional Auto Body Repair, to avoid the additional cost involved, or in some cases loss of value to the vehicle because of panel repainting or the appearance of a car having been damaged during ownership. As a result of paint pulling away from a panel or being damaged, Dents Charlotte, Inc. will not charge the customer for dent repair to that area of damage, unless the customer and Dents Charlotte, Inc. have agreed to a lesser repair before hand, i.e., a percentage based repair. Dents Charlotte, Inc. and its' employees do understand your sincere desire to return the vehicle to its' original appearance and we strive with exceptional training and experience to meet your needs.

Additionally large damage (defined as anything above a quarter in size or diameter, or longer than a 2 inch crease if it is a crease) is often a percentage based repair due to difficulty. If paint cracks during our repair process, it's typically the result of previous poor paint management by the owners of the vehicle, extreme cold, or an area of the metal panel that's overstretched from the dent damage. We will only provide touchup to the area where paint has broken as a result of our process, if you the customer supply the touch up paint beforehand. We will not pay to have the panel repainted or repaired traditionally under any circumstances.

Dents Charlotte provides paint less dent repair services. For an additional explanation of our process please visit our website at www.dentscharlotte.com. Feel free to contact us about any questions you may have. Paint less dent removal does not normally involve altering the paint on a car. Due to this, any pre-existing paint damage on the car is not the responsibility of Dents Charlotte, Inc. or our affiliates, to repair. Old scratches, paint chips, discoloring of the paint, fish eyes, attempts by customers to repair the dents themselves, previous bondo or filler work, or previous PDR work should be noted by the customer at the time of request for services. Repair using PDR will be agreed upon between the customer and Dents Charlotte, Inc. (Technician) Technical Specialist and only that PDR will be addressed during repair. Dents Charlotte Inc reserves the right to photograph any customer vehicle where services have been requested, both before and after repair to confirm pre-existing damage, and the results of our work on your car. Any special circumstances surrounding the repair of damage including: drilling holes, removing liners, or limited reparability (i.e. only a percentage of the damage can be repaired) etc, because of damage difficulty or damage access will be discussed thoroughly with the customer before the repair process begins and will be agreed upon verbally.

If a customer is not satisfied with the work provided, and we at Dents Charlotte feel the work is within the original agreement for services provided written on the original Estimate Invoice, Dents Charlotte reserves the right to seek payment through legal recourse. Although we do not expect this to occur with any regularity, there are instances where-by these types of disagreements will arise. These matters will be addressed through legal recourse and any other rights provided to Dents Charlotte, Inc. by law, in which we can use to demand payment.

By signing our Warranty before Dents Charlotte, Inc. begins any repair on your vehicle, you the customer understand and agree to the Terms of Service on the Dents Charlotte Estimate & Approval and to the Terms of Dents Charlotte's Warranty for Dent Repair Services. You, the customer will be required to sign an "Authorization to Begin Repair" on the Dents Charlotte Estimate & Approval from which you will be charged once the repair is complete. You, the customer, also agree to pay Dents Charlotte, Inc for the full amount of the initial Estimate at the time we state our repair is complete and workmanlike. The only exception to this agreement is, if Dents Charlotte, Inc and you the customer agree to a different price due to limited reparability.
